Arun's Tennis Academy

The Vision                                                                                                   

Dr. Arun Jetli has coached tennis as a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (U.S.P.T.A.) for over 20 years.  In 1984, he combined his vast knowledge of tennis with his Ph.D in Philosophy to conceptualize a comprehensive training program specializing in the development of the junior player, now widely known as Arun's Tennis Academy.  Arun's teaching philosophy is based on the crucial role that the group lessons, best described as "organized practice," are the pinnacle of the instruction here at the academy, during which specialized drills are conducted that focus on all the aspects of the game.

The Instruction                                                                                      

Arun's methodology of the tennis instruction evolved from the legendary Harry Hopman - the renowned coach of the the Australian Davis Cup team, John McEnroe and Vitas Gerulaitis.  In 1976, Arun taught with Mr. Hopman at his academy in Florida, assisting in the coaching of many world-class players.  Since moving to Cleveland in 1980, Arun has coached many nationally and regionally ranked juniors, as well as touring professionals whom he has traveled with to such venues as Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

The Programs                                                                                               

We offer classes for beginners at the most basic level of instruction up to advanced players in need of intense training. Our programs are designed to provide you with the skills necessary to achieve your tennis goals, whether they be recreational, to play on a high school of college team or to play professionally, Although we offer classes year-round, our summer program provides our students  with the unique opportunity to train at our University School location in the three (3) hour sessions or to experience and all day event, in order to reach the utmost of their potential.

Private Lessons                                                                                     

Although the "group" lesson is the staple of our instruction, a private lesson has many benefits when used to augment the summer training program. It is recommended that students training at the highest level schedule one (1) private lesson per week.  For all other students, a periodic lesson is an excellent way to thoroughly assess and focus on areas needing improvement.  Days and times available are very flexible. Just call to schedule!

Adult Classes                                                                                           

Looking for private lessons?  Prefer to learn in a group setting?  We will custom-make a class for you and your friends, or find a group for you! Adult group lessons are available on a weekly basis. Please call for days and times available.

Muriel's Tennis Centre

Muriel Stine has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (U.S.P.T.A.) since 1975 with a Pro 1 rating and has taught tennis for over 50 years.  Muriel has trained her teaching pros to use the finest methods of the U.S.P.T.A.  We offer your child the highest quality of instruction:  stroke production, tactics, strategy, footwork, match play, and to love the game of tennis.

Private lessons and Group Clinics are available for Juniors and Adults  in the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.  Sign up ASAP to reserve your place.

Junior Unlimited Tennis Membership

Cost:  $65/month
(minimum 6 month commitment)

Juniors may reserve court time any time of day with same day reservation only.

We are still accepting reservations for Permanent Court Time.  Please submit your requests to our Tennis Director, Glidden Droz and get your reservation form at the front desk.
