Brian Shoman
Brian Shoman comes to us from Towpath Tennis Center in Akron where he was the Junior Programs Coordinator and Associate Professional since becoming a teaching professional in 2004. He has his P-1 certification through the USPTA. He is a United States Stringing Association Master Racquet Technician and play tester for the USRSA. He has been a certified USTA official and referee since 2002. He is currently the District League Coordinator for Junior Team Tennis for Northeast Ohio and the Secretary and Treasurer for the Greater Akron USTA Team Tennis Association. For his volunteer work, Brian was the recipient of the 2007 Herb Nold Volunteer of the Year Award and the 2008 USPTA Rookie of the Year Award. In 2010, he received Ohio Pro of the Year award from the USPTA. Also, he is the USPTA Vice President of Ohio. Brian was a high school tennis standout at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He earned a Sports Management degree from Bowling Green State University. Brian lives in Akron with his wife Stephanie and their 6 month old son Cooper.
Muriel Stine
Muriel has achieved virtually every accomplishment as a USPTA Tennis Professional. She is a Tennis Profession 1, a P1 (the highest level) since 1971, is an evaluator for certification for Tennis Professionals, she’s been a referee and has been a Tennis Director for the past 30 years throughout Northeast Ohio.An accomplished player in her youth, Muriel played in some of the country’s most prestigious tournaments - she was highly respected as a player, throughout the tennis world.To say that tennis is Muriel’s life doesn’t fully explain her commitment to the sport, our club and the students who she has the opportunity to teach.The Tennis Center at Peak is a vibrant tennis club because of the programming that Muriel has long brought to Peak and, most importantly, because of the care she gives to every aspect of club operations and to each member and student.
Adam Perkins
Adam Perkins is our newest professional at Peak. He is USPTA certified, and also an accomplished racquet stringer for the club. He has been teaching at Peak since May 2011, and has been teaching tennis since 2007. He is a recent graduate from Cleveland State University where he received a degree in Sociology, and a minor in Sports Management. Besides playing tennis for Cleveland State Vikings for 4 years... he is a 4 time horizon league champion, and a 4 time national qualifier. He also played tennis for Geneva High School under Phil Dubsky.
